TET is the acronym of teacher eligibility test. TET is must for being a Primary teacher. NCTET (national council of teacher education and training ) now said that tet will be must for further teacher appointment in primary for improving the quality of primary education. CBSE conduct national level test that is called CTET (Central teacher eligibility test). Cbse conducts CTET exam 2 times in a year. and every stat conduct their own teacher eligibility test.
The Board of Secondary Education Orissa (BSE) will conduct the state's 1st teachers' eligibility test (OTET) to fill up these vacancies after the yearly high school certificate examination is complete. There will be no direct recruitment. As per the central government guidelines, Orissa government will conduct the OTET, The school and mass education department has asked the respective districts to keep the recruitment process on hold though most of the districts had already prepared merit lists of SS
In agreement with the requirements of of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide advertisement dated 23 August, 2010 and after that improvement vide Notification 29 July 2011 had laid down the least qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes 1 to 8. It had been inter-alia provided that one of the necessary qualifications for a person to be eligible for selection as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of Section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.
